Fall Alpha Launch & Dev Update #2

October 17th, 2020 at 4:30 pm

The Fall Alpha is starting on Wednesday, November 4. Get a sneak peek with the City Nodes, Mining & Metalworking video update!

Hi, fellow gamer and MMO enthusiast!

As promised in the last post, we have a new video update available this week, featuring resource nodes, mining & blacksmithing!

As you can see, owning a mining town is a non-trivial group effort!

Now, to the announcement you’ve all been waiting for…

Fall Alpha Launch Day

The start of the Fall Alpha has been set: the day is…

Wednesday, November 4, at 4pm CET (10am EST)!

Wait, that’s November! Totally not October!

…yes, we’re launching a few days later than planned. The reason is we’ve decided to introduce not one, but two of the optional additions listed in the roadmap in August. Check them out below!

Also, due to the delay in the start of the test, the launch of city claiming has also been postponed to Tuesday, October 20, at 4pm CEST (10am EDT). The page has just been updated with more info on the content of each city node, so owners of a Governor+ pack can make more informed choices 🙂

Unplanned Additions

The first and most important unplanned addition is the City Trading Post, which allows Governors to exchange heavy materials with other player cities. The trading is not performed by magically “teleporting” resources around like you’ve seen in other games, nor by NPCs caravans and the like. It’s players and their carts/wagons who ought to do the job!

We believe the Trading Post opens up great opportunities for players to live their life as merchants in the universe of Fractured. Of course, a Player Marketplace is also going to be added in the future!

The second unplanned addition are Trolls and their encampments. Three types of Trolls exist, all located in the Eastern regions of Myr, allowing you to unlock 7 new abilities. That’s not all, however – we also got 3 new undeads with 6 new abilities, plus a couple abilities added to existing creatures. That’s a total of 15 unplanned new spells coming in the Fall Alpha! Woha!

A future video development update is going to cover all of the above more in detail, so… stay tuned!

Yet another update is out, two more to go.

See you soon in the Fall Alpha!
