AMD Ryzen 4000 “Zen3” series could feature 10-core SKUs

The Next-generation Ryzen series based on the Zen3 series might feature 10-core models, according to Yuri Bubliy (1usmus), the creator of the DRAM calculator for Ryzen and upcoming ClockTuner for Ryzen.

We reached out to Yuri for more information. According to him, the data is already present in AGESA 1.0.8.1, so it is more or less confirmed. Of course, it does not mean that AMD will for sure launch such processors, it might just be an optional configuration for internal testing.

What this means is that AMD might be preparing Zen3 SKUs that will compete directly with 10th Gen Core Intel processors. Assuming that this will happen, we could expect, for instance, 5+5 Zen CCX configurations.

AMD Zen3 to support “Curve Optimizer”

The new series of processors from AMD will also feature Curve Optimizer. A new feature will enable frequency adjustment for each core in the processor without restrictions.

AMD Ryzen Master already provides a lot of features when it comes to overclocking and undervolting for Ryzen processors. However, there is still room for improvement. This was noticed by 1usmus who is developing ClockTuner for Ryzen, a semi-automatic tool to find the best CCX in Ryzen processors.

AMD Zen3 to feature Infinity Fabric dividers

It has also been revealed that Zen3 will also focus on memory acceleration. The microcode in the BIOS also features Infinity Fabric dividers. This should provide more flexibility to memory controller frequency configurations, such as mixed mode.

As Yuri says, there is currently no more information about this feature. However, we might see even more updates related to the Zen3 series in AGESA soon.

AMD has not provided a launch date for Ryzen 4000 series. The company did, however, confirm repeatedly that the Zen3 client desktop series will launch this year.
